We were sad to hear of the loss of Tony’s Uncle Frank who was a long-standing supporter of the Charity. Frank lived at Ashford with his wife Hilda and had been in the Royal Marines for many years specialising in physical training. Frank was a kindly sincere man whose fine example will be much missed. Tony attended the family funeral on the 14th October. The Charity sends its sincere condolences to Hilda and the family.
Joe Warr was a master of knowledge of historical weaponry and had his own fine collection as well as contributing time and effort to the historical club to which he was a key member. Joe presented his fine display on two of our Open Days and had a stream of visitors chatting and showing great interest in his collection. Joe not only gave fervent support to our Charity but also assisted us personally behind the scenes. Dinty represented the Charity at the Brighton Crematorium to express our deep regret and sadness at his passing. Jo was a kind and benevolent gentleman who will be much missed by all that knew him.
Many will remember the pony “Brownbread Toffee” that gave nearly 20 years of service helping disabled riders and others. Unfortunately, following a short illness and brief stay in the horse hospital, Toffee was released from the pain of her illness on the19th October aged 23 yrs. She was much loved by many able and disabled riders and helpers and all here at the Charity.
